First dip

I took these photos about 10 days ago. The water temp of Lake Gaston was 61F. My husband and I are cold water wimps & we don't usually jump in until the water temp approaches 80. But my teenage nephew had other ideas...

After he swam back to the dock, he tried to tell me that it wasn't too bad. I didn't believe him for a second. Just take a look at his face when he popped back up to the surface....

Where I come from, we call those teenage boys immature males.

Lynn, Mary & Anon -
I agree with all of you!
Growing up in upstate NY, I swam in some pretty cold water. I remember my feet turning blue as I waded into the water of Seneca Lake. But those days are over - it's warm water only for me. Leave the cold water swimming for the kids.

Would you believe that I have just seen another site { http://natureremains.blogspot.com/} with a Lily in it too -- do cats count ?? You have a beautiful pair of dogs. I'll bet THEY like the water.

That same site with the Lily cat also has water. Not as impressive as your sprawling lake -- instead a serene, cozy pond that just sits there and be beautiful.
