A collection of notes and photos - most of them taken at our home on Lake Gaston, North Carolina. Pets & wildlife are my favorite photo subjects. Visit my Lakeview Aviary website for info and more photos about my indoor finch aviary.

I see that they're communal bathers, too. Very cute and I love their colors!
It must be nice to have their company.
Beautiful little jewels! I especially like the little yellow butterballs. :)
I bet they were watching all week. Any idea which brave soul tried it out first? Of course, the others watched that bird then saw it had a nice time then joined in.
Waaay too cute. Communal bathing is the thing on Indigo Hill, too. It just takes one to start it and then everybody has to get clean. You are blessed with these lovely little jewels.
Wait a minute, Julie...
You all bathe together??
;-)
My dream, for when my hubby's book becomes a bestseller, is to build an aviary and rescue abandoned parrots, etc.
All those birds you have! I want to kiss all their little beaks!
You are rich!
Just a funny story that I was reminded of when I read this post: A friend of mine has a whole slew of parrots that she kept in a huge solarium. One day, a red-tailed hawk crashed into the glass and all the parrots started yelling "I have to go to the bathroom! I have to go to the bathroom!".
(They had been trash-can trained) That was the only thing they could think of to say! I BET they had to go after seeing a hawk crash-land a few inches away!
I just think about that day and I have to laugh out loud.
