I don't know about you, but I hate it if I come across a piece of egg shell when I'm eating a muffin. But if I bake muffins (and I sometimes do) for my gouldian finches, I crush the egg shells and throw them right in the batter. Or sometimes I skip the batter altogether and just serve them the egg shells...
